3D Painting in Procreate is unlike anything youâve done so far. Learn how to design your own textures and materials and start creating 3D models that you can check out in your own apartment without any rendering!
In version 5.2, Procreate introduced a game-changing feature - Live 3D painting. And right now is the perfect time to hop on board and learn how to paint in a three-dimensional space.
Bring your art from a plane to space and learn how to create your own textures and materials, where possibilities are (nearly) endless! Play with terrazzo, concrete and marble brushes to cover 3D models in your designs and create original furniture, plants, tile patterns and more.
This is the first time creating in 3D has been simplified to the point where almost anyone can do it and Procreate has done a great job doing so. No hard to master 3D modelling software, you simply import a 3D model into the app and start painting all over it in seconds.
In addition to that, Procreate doesnât require rendering for every change you make. Within the app, everything is live and ready for high-quality export!
The 3D painting feature in Procreate enables you to make perfect visualisations of various products, furniture, wall art, architectural structures and even plants.
Once you create the desired material, you can make a 3D model look almost completely lifelike. And whatâs even more impressive - you can export it and send it to your clients via Facebook messenger, WhatsApp or even email. They can open and view it through their iPhone or iPadâs camera in AR right there in their living room, office or outside!
3DÂ painting is a skill that can come in extra handy and set you apart from your competition. If youâre a digital illustrator or a graphic designer youâll have an edge in landing interesting jobs with clients in architecture, product design, or interior design.
3D painting in Procreate introduces a whole new dimension (pun intended) to digital illustration. Once you paint your own texture or design on a 3D model, you can check it out in augmented reality with your Apple deviceâs camera and see what it would look like in real life.
See how a monstera plant would look in the corner of your living room, imagine how your new terrazzo tiles will turn out or visualise a new piece of furniture in an apartment youâre renovating.
And to be completely honest, even if you wonât ever need it ⌠itâs super fun to paint in 3D! Youâll probably find yourself scribbling around in 3D just for fun. Itâs a really cool feature and itâs a breath of fresh air in the field of illustration. The future is now!
3D art used to be something only experts could do. You needed powerful computers, special skills, and had to deal with complicated software. Just to create a simple design, youâd spend hours figuring things out, waiting for the computer to finish rendering, and spending a ton on equipment.
But Procreate changed the game. Now, you can create high-quality 3D art right on your iPad, wherever you are. No rendering, no expensive hardware, no technical headaches. Just pure creativity.
Even if youâve never touched 3D software before, youâll be surprised how intuitive it feels. Itâs just like painting, but your canvas happens to be three-dimensional. And the best part? You can see your creation instantly - no waiting for renders or dealing with computer crashes.
Iâve worked as a professional illustrator for over 15 years, doing most of my recent client work exclusively in Procreate. It just offers so much as opposed to other software or doing your illustration on a piece of paper or canvas.
Donât get me wrong, just like any other artist, I love creating with real brushes on real canvas. But when doing client work where everyone needs digital illustration, doing it in an analogue way is just too time consuming.
Now, even though 3D painting in Procreate is a brand new feature, Iâve spent thousands of hours creating in the app and I pretty much know it inside out. This helped me figure out the 3D painting extremely quick and to the point where Iâm confident teaching other people as well.Â
Iâve crafted a well thought out lesson progression, where we start with the 3D basics, lightings, key settings for creating textures and materials and gradually move onto exercises where youâll put it all into practice.
As with all my courses, I did my best to include as many practical exercises as possible. I get that thereâs really no better way to learn but to do it on your own (with me guiding you, of course).
There are 5 extensive follow-along exercises for you to paint and master the 3D feature in Procreate. Youâll create your own materials and texture brushes, use different 3D painting techniques and paint different 3D models to end up as a stand-alone 3D artist who doesnât need anyone guiding them.
Pets are family, and the demand for personalized pet portraits is ever-growing. This course not only adds to your artistic skills but also opens doors to new opportunities.Â
People rarely hesitate to spend on two things they cherish: their children and their pets. By mastering pet portraits, you can not only earn from your passion, but you also get to bring smiles to peopleâs faces.Â
And let's face it, there's something incredibly fulfilling about earning from something that brings joy to your clients, all while doing something you love!
Plus, think of the fun collaborations with pet shops, vet clinics, or even pet events! Your art could be the star of the show, connecting you with a community of pet lovers who truly value your work.Â

Getting models that work with Procreate out of the box is quite tricky as the feature is so new. As demonstrated in the video below, the UV mapping of the models you can buy and download on the 3D model libraries online is not configured to be Procreate compatible in most cases. You'll sometimes encounter difficulties such as incomplete color fills, messy lines etc. while using any of the Procreate painting tools.
â
5 Models are included in the course, and on the checkout you have an option to add 25 Fashion & Clothing 3D models for free to your order. These models are specially optimized for seamless use in Procreate, so you'll be able to paint models that will look as realistic as possible. Commercial license is included, so you can use the model freely in any commercial projects, too. See model previews below.

Iâve found out quickly after embarking on my teaching journey, thereâs only one way to create courses that people will actually want to finish.
Thereâs too many courses and lectures out there that people buy and hoard ⌠and never finish. Thatâs why Iâve made a habit of sending out a survey regularly (you might have already gotten it before) where I ask my students for an honest feedback about the course they bought.
Before creating a new course, I then study the responses and do everyhing in my power to structure it according to the studentsâ wishes. After all, you will be the one to take the course, not me, so your opinion matters the most.
And itâs thanks to that one simple hack that Iâve gotten multiple compliments about the narration tempo, course interface, theory-practice ratio, in-depth explanations of the most important tools, etc. It means the world to me thatâs why Iâll never create any course without having a LOT of insight into studentsâ wishes and expectations!
Iâve made sure the narration is calm in slow-paced and it allows you to follow along without pausing the video too often. If you want to take your time, however, you can do so and pause the video whenever you like. Iâve even put timestamps where the most important info is shared, so you can jump there with one click!
Why not monetize something you love doing and are good at? Imagine getting paid for the time you spend unwinding after a long, stressful day. Sounds like a dream, am I right?
Enroll in my course and get to know the ways to earn money for drawing portraits (and/or other kinds of digital illustrations). Learn how to price your work for clients and follow the included checklist when creating your portfolio to maximize the possibility of landing a job youâd love!
â
I get that is not a $19.99 course and I get it if youâre not sure about your purchase. So Iâve decided to take on the risk.
After enrolling, you have 30 days to decide whether you like the course or not. If you like it, great, money well spent! And if you donât like it, you simply contact me via email and ask for a full refund.
If weâre still within the 30 days from your purchase, Iâll personally make sure youâll get all your money back, no questions asked - Iâll even cover the card processing fees!
