What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

Judy’s story is amazing, but not unique.

Even though she had huge odds to overcome, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming an artist in mere weeks

And you can, too.

Here’s how...

Judy T. of Apple Valley, California, was in the early stages of retirement

She was finally enjoying having time to herself - time to pursue the things she’d put on hold for so long after raising four kids and working at the local hospital.

Her days seemed full of possibilities…

She could finally go to lunch with a friend! She could visit her grandkids in Texas whenever she liked.

She could even get into the hobbies she’d set aside for so long!

These first few weeks were wonderful…

But then, one fateful day, she decided to use some of that free time to fix up the house.

First things first, she wanted the Christmas lights taken down, but she didn’t want to wait for her adult son to come over and pitch in…

If no one else would help, she’d do it herself.

After all, it was January - and she didn’t want the neighbors to gossip.

Judy pulled the ladder from the dusty garage and lined it up with the roof.

She climbed up…

And started removing the lights row by row.

It was all going well for the first 15 minutes, then…

Disaster struck.

As she was climbing down the ladder with a fistful of lights, she maneuvered around to place her foot on the next rung…

Only to find air instead.

A split second later, she found herself on the hard ground.

Her ankle felt like it was on fire.

Sickened with pain, she knew her plans for the next few months of retired life were about to change drastically…

Sure enough, she found herself in the hospital undergoing surgery a few hours later.

While she was glad she got the medical care she needed, she was also spiraling into a dark mood…

How was this possible?

She’d waited YEARS to finally have time to herself, and now she couldn't go out on her own for months?

Forget seeing her friends or getting her hair done…

Because of one stupid mistake, now she couldn’t even get to the bathroom on her own!

Worst of all, her doctor told her the recovery period would be 4-6 months in a wheelchair - and that was just for the first stage.

She had no idea how she’d fill the time…

Thankfully, her son had given her an iPad for Christmas, so at least she’d have something to keep her entertained…

The iPad turned out to be a lifesaver.

After reading online news and watching a few shows on Netflix each day…

She turned to social media.

She pored over Facebook and Instagram for hours just to see what her friends and family were up to.

While she was scrolling one day, she came across an ad for an art course

Judy had always secretly wanted to be an artist - but she’d never had the time while raising her kids and working full time.

Plus, she was secretly afraid she would never be able to create anything good because an old memory kept plaguing her…

The last time she’d really tried to make a great painting was back in the 9th grade…

Despite her hard work, her brother loudly mocked her project in front of the whole class.

She vowed she’d never share her art again.

“It seems silly to let that comment sting for 41 years, but that’s how the human heart is sometimes. It ruined how I felt about creating art for so long.”

Because of this old memory, she shot down the idea of taking the art course…

Until the very next day.

Another post about the exact same course caught her eye.

Only this time, she looked a little closer.

The student examples seemed incredible - and, she realized, this class was all online!

The projects were created with only an iPad and a tiny piece of software.

This was perfect because she didn’t want to spend a fortune on art supplies…

And with her foot in a cast, she couldn’t exactly roll around the art store or stand up to paint a canvas anyway.

The idea of taking this class started growing on her…

As she looked at all the success stories of the other students…

She decided to take the leap and try something new.

Immediately after signing up, she started watching the course videos.

They were easy to follow, and the instructor covered everything step-by-step.

Judy completed the first exercise and then instantly started on the second…

The time flew by as she watched video after video.

After just a few hours of practice, she reviewed her work and felt proud enough to show her husband what she’d been working on.

She emailed her first few pieces to her daughter, too.

They praised her work!

With her family cheering her on, she felt a little braver so she shared in the course’s Facebook community...

And then on her own Instagram page.

The second she hit post, though, she powered down the iPad and wondered if sharing was such a great decision…

Her brother’s old jokes about her painting still echoed in her mind, after all.

What if people made negative comments?

It was too much to think about.

Hours later, she finally had the strength to open to check out her social media…

And she was pleasantly surprised to see a few dozen likes and comments on each piece!

One comment in particular stood out…

It was from a neighbor telling her to enter something like these pieces in the town’s upcoming art show.

Judy was stunned - could she actually show her art off in front of complete strangers again?

This was going to take a lot of consideration, but…

After a few more lessons in her art course…

She decided she’d give it a shot.

Picking her favorite piece, she uploaded it to a printer’s website, and bought a 16” x 24” print of her work…

Days later, she had her husband drop off the image at the art show.

In just days, they’d have the work on display for everyone in the town to see…

When the day of the art show finally arrived,

Judy was so excited and nervous…

Would people like it? She was about to find out.

She rolled around the halls in her wheelchair until she found her piece.

Hanging off her painting was the last thing she ever expected...

A blue ribbon!

She’d won first place for digital painting!

Finally - she really felt like she could call herself an artist.

Since that day, she’s shared her work in front of hundreds and won ribbon after ribbon at several local art shows.

Art - and the online course that made it all possible - freed her from a deep depression and years of embarrassment.

Digital painting gave her a new purpose and fulfilled a lifelong dream.

Judy’s not alone in this, either…

Art can have this same effect for anyone who tries it.

Studies performed at all the major colleges have proven this.

“Research has shown that art making can have a profound impact on a person’s physical and psychological well-being,” says clinical assistant professor of art therapy at New York University, Marygrace Berberian.

If you’ve ever considered becoming a professional artist, or even just making beautiful pieces for your own enjoyment, there’s no time like the present to get started…

And there’s no easier way than with the same course that helped Judy - and thousands of people just like her - to find the joy of creating art again.
