Hello! It's time for another Tutorial Tuesday! Today we'll be using the sampler brushes from my Ultimate Watercolor Brushset. So please download the tutorial files first. You'll find the tutorial PDF, sampler brushes, sketch file, and swatch file in the download link above.
Step 1: Sketch out the composition using a 6B or a peppermint brush. Lower the opacity of the layer, rename it as sketch and lock it.
Add a layer beneath the sketch and swipe on Freya Paper Texture Brush No. 4. Add another layer on top of the sketch and create the base layer for your dolphin using Freya Wet on Wet No. 6 in a light grey color. Add a clipping mask, and slowly add darker grey colors with the same brush.
Step 2: On another clipping mask, add the dark blue color using Freya Wet on Wet Brush No. 6. Add a bit of pale peach color near snout using Freya Wet on Dry No. 4.
Step 3: Blend out some of the details using Freya Blender Brush No. 2. Use Freya Dry on Dry No. 5 and Freya Wet on Wet No. 6 to create texture.
Step 4: Finally color in the wave splashes and bubbles using Freya Wet on Wet No. 6 and Freya Wet on Dry No. 4. Add a bit of detail on the dolphin body using Freya Dry on Dry No. 5 and Blender Wash No. 2.
Congratulations! You've completed this lovely artwork using the Freya Watercolor Sampler Brushes! Please don't forget to tag me when you're done! I'd love to see your version! 🥰
