Effortless Forget-Me-Not Flower Tutorial for Procreate

Download the files here

Hello, in today's tutorial we are going to draw Scorpion Grass or Forget-Me-Not flowers using premium brushes from the Effortless Flower Brush Set. Please download the materials before we begin. You'll find the tutorial PDF and swatch palette in the download folder.

To recreate this flower, we are going to use five brushes from the Effortless Brush Set. Namely, Petal 13, Pollen 7 and 8, and Stem 8 and 9. Make sure that your Dynamic Scaling is turned on when you're using this brush set,  you can find this under Actions > Preferences.

Step 1: Let's start with a 3000 x 3000-pixel canvas at 300 DPI. Create the first layer. Choose the color duo from the swatch palette provided. Remember, after setting the primary and secondary colors for these dual brushes, remember to tap the primary color again, so that Procreate uses that as the active color. Now using Stem brush no. 9 and Stem brush no. 8, draw the stem and bud. Follow the directions of the arrow in the illustration.

Step 2:  Add another layer and this time draw the petals using Petal no. 13. Work with pressure at the beginning and taper off at the end. Draw towards the middle as illustrated.

Step 3: Add another layer and set it as a clipping on top of the petal layer. First, use the Petal Light brush in the middle and then add some of the white folds in the middle using the Pollen 7.

Step 4: Use the Petal Shadow brush on top of the folds. Then add another layer and stamp the pollens using Pollen no. 8 brush. Now go back to the stem and bud layer and add some green shadow under the leaves to add some depth.

I hope you enjoyed this FREE Tutorial! Please explore the many ways you can effortlessly create botanical illustrations with this set! The combinations are endless!
